Frequently Asked Questions

Q. I’m having problems with my password!

A. Please read this, and follow the instructions. If you know your password, but can’t login, please clear your browser’s cache and try once more.

Q. I didn’t get a username or password.

A. Your username and password are automatically sent to you when you signed up. If you haven’t received the email, please check your spam folder, as most likely it has gone there by accident.

Another reason you may not have received the email is if you have signed up for a Riff Ninja membership or trial account previously. If this is the case, the system recognizes that you have already been sent that information and doesn’t resend it automatically. If you have forgotten your password, then please reset it here.

Q. What is this “Bamboo” thing Colin keeps talking about?

A. The Bamboo board is simply a device that we can write on so it shows up on the screen. Those are the lessons where you see writing and drawing and diagramming…

Q. I’m having video problems!

A. The first thing to do is make sure you have the most recent version Flash installed. Second, make sure you have the most recent version of your web browser (ie Fire Fox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari, etc). We find that most of the video problems happen when using Internet Explorer, so if that’s what you’re doing, please upgrade, or alternatively, try a new browser.

Q. Can I download these lessons to my iPad?

A. Yes. We’ve tested this free video downloader app and it works fine to download both the Riff Ninja Academy lessons which show up as videos in your browser, as well as the larger premium course files as well.

Q. Can I download these lessons to my Android device?

A. Yes. For the premium courses with video download links, simply press and hold the link to be downloaded until a menu pops up. Select Save Link and the download will automatically start.

Q. How do I login using my Facebook, LinkedIn, or Twitter accounts?

A. Simply click on the Facebook (or Twitter or LinkedIn) logo underneath the login form. You will be asked to login to your Facebook account, and once inside, to give permission to connect to it. Don’t worry – nothing will be sent to your friends or posted on your behalf or anything of that nature. This is only so the Academy website can verify your account. Next you will be asked to login to the Riff Ninja Academy using your login information (the same way you’ve always logged into the Academy).

At this point, your accounts will be synced together, and if you are logged into Facebook you will now be able to login to the Academy with a single click, by clicking on the logo under the login form.
